My proudest moment in this industry was September 2009. We were awarded PSI's PAW Award. We found out two weeks before the regional convention in Atlanta Georgia. Well, you can imagine that plane fare was very high with having to fly out in 2 weeks. So we did 22 hours in a car to get to Atlanta to receive the award. We, at Barks and Blooms work so hard to be a Fantastically Fabulous Company to our team of Walkers, our customers, our communities and our dogs. The award just meant the world to us.

Nate and I would have to say that our most special memory was being selected to be featured in the March/April issue of “Pet Sitters World”. This is the second year in a row for us to be honored by PSI, a privilege that we will cherish forever. Out of 7000 PSI member companies, being among the few companies to be highlighted to share our “story” speaks volumes. Words cannot even begin to convey just how much PSI means to us. Being part of an organization that exemplifies a team of professionals who make the happiness and well-being of their clients and their furry families a number one priority is truly a mirror image of our very own philosophy. The unwavering loyalty and support we receive from our clients has enabled us to become the ultimate success story. We have each and every one of them along with PSI to thank for making this dream become a reality. We look forward to sharing a lifetime of happy memories with all of you.

I don't have just one memory but it is the pleasure to be remembered at each Quest by most of the long term staff, esp. by Beth, Patty Moran and Lamarr. Dottie was a hoot too! They make you feel like you are part of a warm family not just a business or organization. Keep up the great work PSI and the fantastic Quests! See you in Austin.

Hmmmm... I think my favorite moment is really my favorite moments. Its the exact moment when I tell someone that I'm a certified professional pet sitter, and they get this surprised look on there face. Then BAM! they get this huge grin and they whip out their phone or wallet and show me all the pictures of their pets. Its at this point you can see the love and devotion that pet owners have for their fur babies. It reminds me each and every time why I love my job.

Happy 18th Birthday!
I remember when I first heard about PSI and I was thrilled that someone took the time to give our profession the recognition it deserves. I am celebrating 23 years as a Prof. Pet Care provider and love all the pet's lives I have helped thru the years. Thank you PSI for all the great work you do for our profession.

I really have alot of memorable moments since I became a pet sitter. The best thing about this job is the unconditional love of all the pets.
The greatest thing about PSI is the very knowledgable staff and how they are always available to
help. I have relied on PSI's expertise many times over the past 13 yrs. So, Thank You!!!

My best friend and I started ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL in 1993 on a wing and a prayer. I can remember that we had little money and great expectations! Trying to get liability insurance was a real joke...YOU WANT TO DO WHAT!!!came the response of the many insurance companies we contacted. We came close to giving up, but we hung in there and payed through the nose when one of the companies finally agreed to work with us. Then you guys came along and what a blessing...what a wonderful memory because you UNDERSTOOD what we were all about. Nineteen years later I am by myself, but I still love what I do and am so glad that you all came to our rescue back in 1994.

There are so many memorable experiences being a pet sitter but the one that I always talk and think about is the first time roller blading with Buddy. Buddy, a 140 pound Bull Mastiff at the age of one, was one of my very first clients and had a heart of gold. He didn’t realize he was a big dog and was ball of fun. He actually had a lot of energy for a bull mastiff so I thought I would try roller blading with him. At first he couldn’t figure out what were on my feet and would to bite at my skates. After a few good spills and Buddy giving me healing kisses he got the hang of it and off we went. Roller blading with Buddy always got a good laugh for me and people passing by. I loved it as much as he did. Sadly Buddy died at 1 ½ years old from an unknown condition. His life was too short but I was blessed to be with him at the end to tell him how much I loved spending my days with him. He will always have a place in my heart and is missed.

Wow..I have had many PSI memories but I have to say my favorite was Kyzer, our local police K-9 won the PSI Working Dog Hero award. I never could have imagined the impact it would have on my town North Andover MA. From the winning, Kyzer was featured in two different newspapers as the headline story. From there at our annual National Night Out event I was honored to present Kyzer,Officer Gray and his family the PSI award infront of 4000 residents. The local cable station filmed this and played it for over a month. The town LOVES Kyzer and was thrilled he won the PSI Hero award because he truly is a HERO !!

I have enjoyed being a member since I believe 1996 (Las Vegas Quest). I started my business in 1993 and wished PSI had been there then! Such a great organization!!!!
One of my best memories was at the San Antonio Quest Auctions. The auctions are so much fun. All of us bidding and upping the bid; all going to a great charity. I brought a beautiful throw with a gorgeous black and white cat for the auction. After looking at it several times on the table, I decided I wanted it back to give to my best friend who had just lost her sweet black and white cat. I wasn’t the only person who wanted it. The bidding was hot and busy. Back and forth, back and forth. I wouldn’t give up and a couple of other sitters wouldn’t give up. Finally at somewhere around $150 I won the throw. I was thrilled. And some good money went to a good cause. Funny though!!!

The best memories for me are the most current and the one that still continues - w.hen our clients arrive home and contact us to let us know that their pets look happy are safe and well, you can't beat the great feeling that comes next. Our clients always thank us for taking such great care of their furry family members. These are the wonderful memories that I hold dear to my heart.

One of my favorite memories is the first time I saw my name and business in the member spotlight of the World magazine July/August 2008 issue. Another great memory is getting my picture taken with Patti Moran at my first Quest last year in New Orleans

I have so many great memories over the years when it comes to PSI. Probably my most favorite one was when I received a call from Patti that I had won Pet Sitter of the Year in 2006. You see since I attended my first Quest in 2000 I had strived to be the best I could be and to provide my customers with quality care for their pets as well as exceptional customer service. It had paid off! It was a dream come true and one that my mom would have shared with me if she had been alive. Mom used to make visits with me and cuddle with the pets. I felt winning that award was as much for her as it was for me.
